Park Strategies Welcomes Joel Giambra

Senator Alfonse D'Amato is pleased to officially announce that Erie County Executive Joel A. Giambra will be joining Park Strategies, LLC as a Managing Director effective January 1, 2008. Giambra will be heading up the firm's new Buffalo office and will be focused on providing strategic advice to companies in the Western New York area.


"County Executive Giambra brings twenty-five years of government experience to Park Strategies, having served two terms as the Executive of Erie County and ten years as Buffalo City Comptroller. He departs the Executive Office with three years of consecutive surplus and reduced county spending. Joel was a visionary in Erie County and I am proud to have such a bold and dedicated leader joining our team. We look forward to working with him on some outstanding projects."


Giambra has emerged as one of Upstate New York's most articulate voices for government reform and regional development. Since taking office in 2000, Giambra has worked to implement his "cut, coordinate and grow" agenda. Before being elected County Executive in 1999, Giambra served as Buffalo City Comptroller for 10 years where he oversaw the financing of $624.557 million in municipal bonds.


"My twenty-five years of experience as a public servant and the relationships I have formed during that time should be of great benefit to the clients of Park Strategies," Giambra said. "I have partnered on many projects over the years with my good friend Senator D'Amato and look forward to joining his prestigious public policy and business development firm.


Since leaving the Senate in 1999, D'Amato has run Park Strategies, the successful Manhattan-based consulting practice. The firm, with offices in New York, Albany, Long Island, and Washington, D.C., provides strategic advice and counsel to a wide variety of clients throughout the United States.
