GENERAL DYNAMICS HIRES AL D'AMATO: Defense giant General Dynamics has hired former Sen. Alfonse D'Amato's firm, Park Strategies, to lobby Congress for defense issues - including defense authorization and appropriations bills. D'Amato and former Senate aide Kraig Siracuse will lobby for the company, one of the Pentagon's largest contractors. The registration comes as Congress and the Department of Defense mull what to do with the Pentagon's war spending account that was used to fund the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, plus new fighting against Islamic militants in Iraq and Syria. General Dynamics reported spending more than $6.7 million on lobbying efforts this year. That includes $5.2 million spent on in-house lobbying efforts and 18 active registrations with outside firms.
