Nursing Homes Open for Visitors
The eleventh week of the 2021 legislative session began with both houses dropping their one-house proposals over the weekend (March 6-7).
One-house proposals will likely be introduced over the weekend, establishing baseline positions on spending and associated policy proposals.
This week marks one year since COVID-19 was first diagnosed in New York State.
Since March of 2020, virtually every individual and business in New York State has felt the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic along with the policies intended to mitigate the health effects and spread of the disease.
As the April 1 deadline to enact a New York State Budget agreement makes an appearance on the horizon, the legislature and the Governor worked through a couple of milestones this week, moving closer to the next phase of the negotiating process.
The legislature was not in this week, observing a scheduled winter break that included the annual Presidents Day observance.
February’s typical sprinkling of snow and frigid air did not slow down activity at the state capitol last week with the Governor expanding COVID vaccine eligibility, the announcement of increased federal vaccine allocations to the state, and reopening dining in NYC.
