Senior Advisor

Carm Basile, a Capital Region business leader, is senior advisor for Park Strategies. Before joining Park, Mr. Basile served as the Chief Executive Officer for the Capital District Transportation Authority in Albany, New York. After decades of service at CDTA, connecting people and opportunities throughout six upstate counties, Mr. Basile brings his vast knowledge of local communities and general business operations acumen to Park Strategies.

While at CDTA, Mr. Basile focused on the development of innovative strategies to deliver high – quality services, programs, and facilities to the people of the greater Capital Region. He led the transformation of the company into a community-based provider of mobility services, increasing ridership, visibility, and brand awareness. CDTA was named the Best Mid-Sized Transit System in North America in October 2017.

Under Mr. Basile’s leadership, the organization grew universal access agreements with area colleges and businesses, increased mobility options throughout the region by adding three Bus Rapid Transit lines, on-demand services, a bike share program with 650 electric and pedal bikes, and an all-electric car share program. The company grew its footprint by expanding into Montgomery and Warren counties. Fueled by these initiatives, ridership is at an all-time high, and customer satisfaction and community value scores are outstanding.

Mr. Basile serves on many boards and civic organizations, including the United Way of the Greater Capital Region, Christian Brothers Academy, the Colonie IDA/LDC, and the New York Public Transit Association.
